Brockenhurst Heritage and History

This website celebrates Brockenhurst's heritage and history at the heart of the New Forest. 

A series of history books, both facts and stories passed-down, have raised funds for Brockenhurst's churches. Many were recalled by John Purkess, who's lived his life in the village; these books were further researched and edited David Bennett, a former journalist who also publishes books about the village, and this website. 

Please enjoy the subjects and pages linked and let us know if anything is wrong (history has an odd way of getting 're-told') or if you'd like to see something specific.
